Tailspin- Modern, a remodel by Good Guys.

Location: Scottsdale

Style: Modern

Tailspin is one of those kitchens where the beginning was decent but lacked forethought. Before, the island offered no storage in its batwing shape and the flooring was well worn. The entire kitchen was closed off from the rest of the home. Our client’s desire was to create a better working flow for the kitchen and add usable storage while still looking clean and modern.

We removed the small windows in the backsplash to shift the range down and center it along the backwall. While doing this, we created an opening along the adjacent wall so that there is a passthrough into the dining room. This passthrough helped to create an even flow and bring in more natural light through the downstairs. We ended up taking out the old pantry to move the refrigerator down, but don’t worry, the pantry was upgraded to one with rollouts. The island changed shape and grew. It now fills the space with purpose and functionality. For the finishes, our clients went with a warm flat panel TFL for the perimeter and a darker TFL for the island. They also chose a marble looking quartz with warm grey and brown veining and to continue with the marble, we installed marble subway tile backsplash. The flooring is a large format tile with a light grey background and subtle white veining that gives a soft modern vibe throughout the house. We added gunmetal and black finishes to the hardware, plumbing fixtures, and lighting to finish out the style.

Overall, we loved bringing our clients’ dreams to life and are excited for their family to create new lasting memories in their home.
