Full service kitchen design and remodeling
Sonoran Vogue
Location: Apache Junction
Our Sonoran Vogue project was a full kitchen and flooring gut. Our clients initially came to us for design and cabinetry, but we ended up taking on the entire job, since they wanted it to be done efficiently.
In the beginning, our client’s kitchen was an angled and closed off mess, that allowed for only one person in the kitchen at a time. With the angled walls, and tight walkways, we knew that those would need to be removed. Along with those wall changes, we also completely removed that pantry and laundry room as well. At first thought you would think that most people would want to keep that storage, but when it lacks functionality, then there needs to be a rework. Our client’s vision was to have a beautiful pantry along with a bar that would display their unique glassware. They chose a warm package finish for the perimeter and bar on a beaded shaker door and an espresso stain for the island to bring in depth. For the countertops, our clients went with Taj Mahal quartzite for the perimeter and a granite slab for the island. To compliment the warm tones, our clients chose a warm stone backsplash with metal medallion accents.
By removing the angled floating walls, filling in an opening, and completely removing the pantry, we were able to give space and enlarge the kitchen. We created an L shape kitchen and moved the refrigerator and double ovens across from the sink. This opened and lengthened the kitchen tremendously. We also added a larger curved island, which allowed for optimal seating and functional storage. Where the laundry used to be, we created a double pantry with a focal point on the bar. The laundry moved to the garage, where others created a built-in laundry for our clients. We finished this job with flooring throughout the main living areas.
In the end, this home is now more inviting, and gorgeous. We loved getting to work with our clients to bring their vision to life.
