Full service kitchen design and remodeling
Location: Scottsdale
Style: Desert Contemporary
For our East Dale Lane project, we remodeled the kitchen as well as replacing the flooring in all the tile areas.
In the beginning, this kitchen had a large batwing island with a smaller prep island that inevitably got in the way of the kitchen flow. Along with the dated cabinets, this kitchen housed a dust collecting soffit. With some massaging and careful fore thought, we took this kitchen from the early 2000s to something that is certified desert contemporary.
For the kitchen, we removed the upper soffit and took the cabinets to a whooping ten-foot height. Our clients wished that we also create an island with waterfall ends that would hold room for an ice machine, you know the kind with the good ice. With some new arrangements, we moved the island so that the kitchen sink would be centered on the island and facing the range top. The new flow of the kitchen makes more sense and offers room for all kinds of entertainment. We custom built the hood to make a statement and complimented it with a geometric shaped tile. On the refrigerator wall, we installed an appliance garage that seamlessly hides those countertop appliances. We also installed a new pantry door and fixed the pantry shelving.
For the finishes, our clients went with a neutral warm grey paint for the perimeter, a beautiful brown stain on the island, and a dark blue (almost black) stain for the hood and pantry door. They also chose to have beaded inset cabinets with beveled shaker doors. All the countertops are a stunning quartzite that brings the whole house together. And the flooring is a large format tile that has a warm concrete look, bringing this home into the beautiful desert contemporary.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed working with our clients and are so thrilled for them to relax in their home.
