101ST STREET - CLEAN CONTEMPORARY

At our 101st Street project, we transformed the kitchen from dark & gray to a clean, contemporary space. We collaborated with our client’s contractor and provided cabinets & cabinet installation. We also worked one-on-one with the homeowner to design the kitchen & give them the bright, modern kitchen they desired.

One of our main goals was to add more storage, so we removed the peninsula and expanded the kitchen into the breakfast nook. We were able to fit a large 10’ island packed with storage. Removing the peninsula also created better flow for when our client entertains friends and family.

For cabinetry, our client wanted a clean contemporary look with a pop of color. They selected white flat panel cabinetry for the perimeter – this helped to open up and brighten the space. For the island, we went with a skinny shaker cabinet in a light green paint. We continued the light green into the bar area to tie the island together. When picking countertops, we landed on a dark quartz with a 3” mitered edge for the island to add dimension. To keep with the clean lines of the contemporary style, the marble look quartz on the perimeter continued up the backsplash.

Overall, our clients are happy to have an updated kitchen with smart storage that fit their needs. We were able to brighten up the room with fresh cabinets & countertops and give them the clean, contemporary look they desired.
